The "But You Promised" app is designed to help people keep track of their promises (like pay back money or return borrowed items on time).

The problems:

  • In a world full of stimulation, people forget to stay organized and accountable for their commitments. The app aims to reduce misunderstandings and conflicts that can arise when people forget about their promises and commitments.

  • Our memory is unreliable. We struggle with organization and memory issues to keep track of our promises more effectively.

The challenges:

  • User Reliance: The app relies on users to input accurate and timely information. If a user forgets to enter a promise they made or fails to update the app when they fulfill their promise, the app becomes useless.

  • User Compliance: Even if users enter their promises into the app, they may still fail to follow through on their commitments. The app cannot physically force users to pay back their debts or return borrowed items, so it is up to the users themselves to take action.
